You ‘n’ Flower invites visitors to choose a color on their phone and place the device at the projected roots. A tree then appears to grow directly from the phone before blooming in the selected color. The central novelty is the continuity between a familiar personal device and the plant emerging into the exhibition space.
I developed the foundation of the interaction system that detects a smartphone, grows the plant, and triggers its flowers.
